Terrain Art
at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum

Picture
Ten little tiny pieces of art were made specifically for the existing landscapes at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum in Balboa Park. Exhibited for a few months and one fountain piece was purchased for permanant display.
One piece (Legs Pegs and Points) was shown as if it were a large scale public art piece in the process of being installed. This meant, one of the components traveled on a flat bed rail trailer car for a number of weeks. We then used a tiny crane to set that last component into place and had an art opening with hundreds of tiny little people milling around the site. This event coincided with a party in the museum.

These were all actual individual art pieces within a fantasy/real setting. Size keeps flipping around in ones mind when walking this museum. For me it was great to make small work that felt huge in its setting.
