 Public Art     Nina Karavasiles

Its the full array for me. Affordable Housing, Civic places, environmental projects, books and writing, Eye Chanting and designer concrete sink making.

The newest piece is at Mission Cove in Oceanside CA. A Community HousingWorks commission to be within the organic garden. Two pieces: "The color of Blossoms" and "A Device for Sound Making".

This steel device can be cranked to make sound. Beautiful in its own way, but not music.  An internal paddle moves things around.  What are they?  This can be used to start a meditation. It can be a mind clearer.  It can be a hip thing to share with one’s grandchildren.

"The Color of Flower Blossoms" is 6 feet tall, painted, riveted steel with color panels that move in the wind (hinged). A bean plant grows up the odd trellis.
