Mono-Pours are plaster tablets that show dimensionally in a frame. They are similar to Mono-Prints in that they are a single and not a multiple, meaning that each pour of plaster is an original and can’t be reproduced. There is a mold, clay and objects are inserted and wet plaster is poured into the mold, sort of working backwards or in the negative. After it dries, it is cleaned and sometimes color embelished. The plaster has some heft. I made this series over a few months in 1998.
