ROSA PARKS TRANSIT STATION
Mesa College in San Diego
2010

The Rosa Parks Memorial at San Diego Mesa College honors the legacy and teachings of civil rights activist Rosa Parks who visited Mesa College in the early 1990s.
The kiosk displays a history of Rosa Parks. A life sized image of students with a rose over their hearts. A central vessel contains the Freedom Rose.

Students were chosen for this image, for their similarities with Rosa Parks

Waiting for transit a bit away from the group. Feel the embrace of Quiet Strength which symbolizes Rosa herself. The vessel of the roses breed in the name of Rosa Parks.

I had the honor of sitting with Elizabeth Hamilton who was the person who contact Ms. Parks to visit the Mesa Campus very many years ago. Yes she did!

This is our postcard. It has a printed button to wear at the opening. It has a heart to be worn over one's heart. There is also a rose over the hearts of the students
