"Contraption For a directed
View"
This piece was commissioned for a private residence, one with a commanding view of the ocean. The piece is comprised of two elements; a brass device one looks through while on the upper porch of the house, and a brass and cast glass object which is situated in the terraced garden. The contraption directs you view to simplify things. You get a close up of the craggy texture of palm bark, a slice of perfect blue sky (this is San Diego after all) and the focus of the illuminated glass component in the garden. This intrigue would cause a viewer to walk there to understand what it was. |
